To be fair the ranked system SHOULD be better balanced so plats and golds dont get paired with grandmasters. That creates a massive imbalance in the competitive setting and your average player will get frustrated by the fact.
How many grandmasters are there? At a certain point, the game will have to put them with someone. Not saying that match-making is completely perfect. Something the match-making could be better if they traded a player. Like if two grandmasters, that aren't a duo, are on a team together against 5 diamond players, wouldn't it be smart to switch a grandmaster with a diamond player? Or how they overrate the average rank along with stacks. Spoiler alert, a 5 stack of platinum 1 and 2 players doesn't equal a gold and platinum duo, plus a diamond 5 and 4 duo, plus a grandmaster simply because match-making thinks that the power of friendship can overcome everything.
However, at a certain point, the playerbase just has to get good. Like I watched a video where Rockmonkey was Cassie. Enemy team had Cassie, Androxus, and Ruckus. A 4th pick Gold player picked Pip against that shit, and then complained in the end lobby "I'm Gold." It sucks that match-making did that, but why tf did he see Cassie and Androxus and go "I think Pip would be good here"? At a certain point, you have to blame the lack of his gamesense for why match-making sucks. Over half of the playerbase is even dumber than that Pip believe it or not. So if not that Pip, you'd have put someone even dumber into that match with Rockmonkey.
