I dont use the card Teleport. I use a build which focus on soar. For me "Great Distance" is the best card. It allows me to use blink+soar+blink combo.
People use flicker because it is Evie's only viable sustain right now. And it is quite mandatory for survival. Frigid Field just sucks. Waiting 3 seconds in Ice Block usually ends up with getting killed.
@Buongiornooo
1.) Evie has no burst damage. Burst damage means every high damage in a very short time. 850 dps is not really a burst damage. You mean over the moon ? It increases her dps to 1020 for 3 seconds. Well Andro can do more than that with just his left click. 1444/2166 dps. Without talents or cards.
Good poke? Ice Staff has a slow projectile and high aoe damage fall off. Longer the distance to target harder to hit. Hitting far away targets with Evie is not an easy thing. Also it doesnt matter how good your aiming and predicment is cuz target can easily evade projectiles, thanks to its slow speed. Dragoz and Evie's projectile are not same. (DUH) Dragoz has a higher attack rate, higher aoe, less aoe damage fall off and fast projectiles. Hitting something with Dragoz is easier than Evie. I guess you never played with Evie. If you played with Evie you would notice those differences.
Don't come to wrong conclusions, I was comparing the speed, not the attack speed and aoe. In terms of projectile speed they both seem pretty fast, especially if you compare them to other blasters in other games. Yes, evie's projectiles are the 2nd slowest in the game, but this doesn't make them "hard to hit"... with all the projectiles speed changes they made 2 years ago, everything has become easier to hit. A real rocket is supposed to be slow, in other fps you have to predict, and you can also avoid the shots. In paladins, you can barely do that with seris's soul orbs, the other characters all seem semihitscan lol.
Map knowledge is a thing in Paladins, like choke points, flank routes. Those are very important especially for Evie. You need to know how to use the map for your advantage. For example for flanking and juking enemy.
And this seems map knowledge to you? That's some normal strategy you would use in every team based shooter. Map knowledge means knowing well the entire shape and spots in the map, so that you can use it in your advantages, especially if there are health drops or something similar that benefits you.
Since maps are very restricted, poor of buildings and secret spots, open, small, filled with heavy walls, invisible barriers and low skybox, you basically have to play only 1 match in them to memorize their structure.
Except the old payload maps, they all seem very easy to memorize, 1 main route and 2 flank routes... that's it.
No my friend Evie requires good positiong. Like you would never want enemy to have the high ground. Maybe you did not noticed but Evie players use their mobility skills for positioning, to get higher ground so they can get advantage. Also avoid damage.
So?? That is the positioning? I was especting a better argument than this. Everyone benefits from highground especially in maps where you have to play around it like stone keep and timber mill. But as I said, a champion with high mobility can get it easly, one with no mobility can't. That's why you need less positioning with evie... because you can get as much highground as you want and even if you find yourself in a dangerous situation you get heal or escape easly.
Don't talk to me like I've never played evie, she's my 2nd most played flanker, I used to play her a lot in ranked when I was a onetrick idiot xd, I've also got my highest kda as evie.
Evie's only viable self heal is flicker which sadly got nerfed by %33. Now it is not viable for Over the Moon and Snow globe. Like those talents wasnt weak enuf.
(Thanks Hi-Rez. Keep buffing Koga and Zhin until they can one hit kill every champion.)
bruh imo it was needed.
High skill is not a myth. It is real. No need to be jelly. You can pick Evie and see urself. You dont need to take my word for it. You will see it is not easy as you think. Don't forget i have more than 300 hours experience with Evie. Learnt a lot of things. Like trying to duel with front liners is just foolish but it is fun to kite Terminus. The things i wrote here coming my experiences. They are all things i witnessed, lived.
Again, I have plenty of hours of experience AS and AGAINST evie as well... all I wanted to say is that onetricks are making her appear like such a skill dependent hard champion, when in reality she's not that hard anymore. I find CR andro much harder.
Btw while using soar all i cant think is finding a cover instead of flying openly (soar was over nerfed it is alot easy to shoot Evie now especially for hit scans) and avoid invisible walls. (map knowledge hmm ?) It is nearly 2020 and Paladins still have invisible walls. Unbelievable. Bumbing into one can ruin your escape. So you need to memorize them. Another problem Evie suffers from.
Ikr?? Soar feels so slow right know, it really needs that 10% speed nerf to be reverted. It is very easy to track soar with hitscan and, as a drogoz main, I can also hit most of my shots on her when I get enough close.
