  • Because champs can contest while invulnerable and also while invisible.



  • it's not like she can be invisible forever



  • Because you can contest when your body touches the point. Evie and Ghrok also can contest in Ice block and Ghost walk, shile they are also immune to damage. Skye and Sha Lin also can while they're sealthed.
    The job is to touch.
    And you can use abilities to be safe. Why Fernando can contst while using infinite shield with 3cd? Is it more fair? Champions use different tricks to win the game.

    Why Seris' area heal and healer talent have been buffed, while healer Seris was the 80-90% of Seris picks. It's a way better question to ask.

    The thing with healer Seris was, it was popular, but it was still losing games. Kind of like Life Link Io vs Goddess Blessing Io. Sure more people use Life Link Io, but it's still garbage compared to Goddess Blessing and Sacrifice. Life Link is her worst talent, even though most people use it. Mortal Reach has abysmal winrates, even at low elo. Like in all elo, Mortal Reach had a 45% win rate while Soul Collector had a 50% winrate. Now before you call 50% garbage, realize that Grover Deep Roots and Cherish Furia have a 52% win rate with similar number of games. Also, Yomi Zhin has similar number of games and has a 51% winrate. At Diamond+ elo in controller ranked lobbies, the average winrate is 53%. Mortal Reach has a 46% winrate and Soul Collector has a 54% winrate.

    So for the sake of balance, they did need to buff the heal talent. I don't think Soul Collector needed a severe nerf like they one they gave her though.

  • Battlewise, Dimitri says its due to game design with no utility damage to etherial abilities...

    If certain damage ability design could penetrate etherial defence, then dependance on too much of a good defence ability can be avioded with the right type of firepower.

    But this trait, would have to developed well as no one wants to get hit during an etherial state.
    But say for example... Tigger's blade of reckoning became etherial once thrown and gained some ghostbusting utility, its not too overtoned...

    Currently with no hostility utility to counter defence utility, etherial will continue to be a great ability to shrug instant pressure while standing in no mans land in addition to sheading caut.

    I like the duration of shadow travel, however compared to other abilities out there of a similar nature, it has a huge duration allowing characters with this tier of etherial to get out of combat and seek safety to an almost broken level if it were not for the issue of needing self heal by stacking rend.

    But akin to using a shield to touch point, there has to be something to counter defence used as offence to stall the game.

    I wish there was a bit of a design standard on the design of etherial, as its decaut potential combined with burst heal is part of an issue in concerning healing rush with characters who can dive hard and create safe healing windows, which can allow a character to play a tad unkillable.

    But I feel if there were abilities that counter etherial, then we could see the return of longer etherial windows if they no longer a perfect defence state.



  • yeah but she is a healer... i personally think the fact her toolkit is so cookie cutter is 1/3rd the reason why she is OP... that and Ult redundancy add that with a trained monkey and u will see wins...
