I've been played Paladins since the open beta and there are some interactions that I always thought that should be changed. I saw one of them today and then I decided to make a post about it.
Some of these interactions feel bad in the balance aspect and some just look weird. However, I'd like you to consider changing those things.
Shoulder Bash (Ash) vs Charge (Fernando)
This is the most disappointing one imo.
In the Paladins PS4 trailer, we can see both of them charging against each other in a very epic anime moment. What about in-game? Well, nothing happens 'cause Fernando can't be knocked back during Charge, and the epic fight between the war machine and the sexiest knight in the realm turns into the biggest bruh moment of the year.
In order to keep the epicness of this war between these giants, both of them should feel the pain after crashing against a big pile of steel. However, as Ash is running faster than Nando, her Shoulder Bash should win this fight, deactivate Charge and knock back Nando, but she should also be damaged (something like 500 HP) and slowed during a few seconds while she recovers after the impact (maybe 50% during 2s).
Combat Trance (Tiberius) vs Stuns.
This one feels bad in logic and balance aspects.
In the logic aspect, just by reading the name of the ability you can assume that Tiberius must be focused on what he's doing to keep that Ultra Instint working, so how does he stay in that state after being affected by a stun (considering that stunned champs look like if they were sleeping)?
In the balance aspect, Tiberius can have his Combat Trance available almost always 'cause it goes in CD while it's active (which reduces it's real CD to 11s) and he has a card that can reduce that CD even more by hitting people with his sword (2s for every hit, so you can reduce it to 7s just by hitting an enemy twice). Add Chronos reducing the CD in 1.5s per level (3,5s at level 3) and he can easily use the ability for 4s every 3.5s.
I'm not trying to say that it's OP, I'm just saying that it would be fair if it could be completely interrupted with a stun.
Counter (Zhin) vs Time Bomb (Skye) and King Bomb (Bomb King)
Ignoring that a sword can stop an explosion that can wreck almost everything in the realm and how weird it is, how do you explain that an explosion with less range and less damage can't be countered by the same sword? I mean, it can counter Terminus' ult!! The Abyss is trying to kill you and you can counter it!!! How is King Bomb more powerful???
Zhin should be able to also counter King Bomb's explosion OR don't be able to counter Skye's and Terminus' ult.
Rune of Travel (Talus) vs Cripples, Roots, Silences and Stuns.
You can't activate it while being affected by any of those CC effects, but it still activates if it runs out of time.
I mean, why? It doesn't make sense and is not fair. Those CC's are meant to don't allow you to escape and literally no one can escape from some of them, so why should Talus be saved by a lucky timing? No sense imo.
Trigger Happy + Tenacious (Koga)
Trigger Happy increases the healing that Koga receives while he shoots his SMGs. Tenacious heals you when you use Shadow Step, an ability that doesn't allow you to shoot during its effect. The funny moment comes when you realize that you can combine these cards anyway and heal for 450 HP if you activate Shadow Step while shooting (even when Koga stopped shooting in order to activate Shadow Step) and it can't be countered with Cauterize 'cause Shadow Step purifies your body and soul and keeps the bad things far from your health bar.
Again, it's not OP and both cards will be nerfed in the Mohammed Salah Patch, but this interaction makes no sense and can be confusing for some players.
Dragon Punch (Drogoz) vs Damage Immune Targets and Deployables
The only way that Drogoz can use his ult, hit a champion and don't get the kill is by hitting Ash or Fernando during their ults (also an ally affected by Nando's ult can survive). I'm not sure if there are more ults that can make this happen, but the point is that it doesn't work equal against all the damage immune targets.
For example, if Drogoz tries to hit Khan while he uses his Battle Shout, he won't actually hit him until he closes his mouth. He's damage immune, not untargetable (he can be stunned or affected by Cauterize), so why doesn't he tank Drogoz's ult?
This interaction looks specially weird and goes against logic.
Shadow Travel (Seris) vs Illuminate.
Shadow Travel works like a stealth state. While it seems logic, it isn't when you understand what Seris is and what she's doing when she activates this ability.
While the rest of stealth abilities aparently work with crystals or some type of technology/magic, Shadow Travel gives you the power to travel trough a different dimension (or alternative reality or some kind of edgy thing) which is the reason why she can't be hit during the ability. She's using the power of the Abyss to travel trough space and time, so imagine how weird is that you can see her after buying an item that is cheaper than the one that makes your gun deal 20% bonus damage to shields.
Ignoring the ridiculous logic in that, Seris' kit makes her a champ that doesn't work very well in lend game and this interaction makes that even worse. With that in mind, my suggestion is that Shadow Travel shouldn't be affected by Illuminate and Seris shouldn't be visible at close range during the ability. It can be balanced by increasing the cooldown or the cast time.
