We may have lost but I like my ying stats in this match (also 102k healing)
Why should I, a typical FPS player who almost exclusively plays FPS games, be forced to play what is essentially a first person MOBA by playing tank or healer, just for the sake of winning? Its not what attracted me to the game. If HiRez catered to the DPS players who populate games like Overwatch, TF2, CSGO, R6, Battlefield, COD, Quake, etc etc, instead of MOBA players from WoW, Smite, or LoL, I have no doubt they would have a broader audience.
Maybe paladins isn't for you. You keep comparing it to other games, then maybe you should play those fps instead of this one. What makes you stay here instead of playing other game that can satisfy your needs better?
I don't mind Strix as much as Willo. I can avoid being sniped mostly. It's Willo's deadzone and blastflower together. It's just too much.
I'm a little biased because I main willo and I want her to be happy. As long as they don't unbuff her mobility I am fine, I just want her to fly, but yeah, deadzone + seedlings + big aoe weapon is a really strong combo and even if she was always annoying it's more common to see her lately so it's even more annoying
I hate strix as much as I could, though. Not being able to breathe when he's on the enemy team hurts
@Dusklicious I already know who's doing it in my case too.
I remember when this forum was new and I opened a thread about downvoting being anonymous and it got downvoted, sweet irony. Mods told me that if it was public it would create a bad atmosphere but if you guys all know who's doing it already... I don't know, some people instead of wisely using the downvote they just spam it because they don't like the person or because that person didn't agree with them so they are triggered, and that's not how to use it at all
None of my teams had Willo or Strix
Lately the more strix I see, the less will to play I have lol
seems like some people can't help themselves and downvote your every posts just cause they disagree with you on something -.- I've come to even wonder how I'm keeping up above 40 reputation^^' thanks to every of those who actually upvote me
thanks paladins community, very mature, absolutely not toxic, and totally civilized
Sigh, problems of having an anonymous downvoting system...
I would like to participate in this thread although I have little time so I can't read every post. I will read the original one.
I'm just estimating, but I'd say at least 75% of the FPS community likes having the weapon that does the most damage per shot on the battlefield. That same percentage probably likes being able to move the fastest around the map. That same demographic most likely prefers cool, athletic, well proportioned characters more than they like non-threatening healer characters or big bulky absurd tank characters. It's just common sense that
Be careful with estimations, if you don't know the statistics just don't say it at all, it's not uncommon to believe that you're right on a percentage from your own experience and then see the real numbers and be completely wrong. It would be interesting to see the actual numbers, though
So perhaps the game should be reworked so that a 5 DPS composition is viable. I'm sure there would be scores of DPS players that would appreciate this change, and while the tank and healer segments of the community probably wouldn't, it simply isn't fair to us DPS players to be constantly forced into playing roles we dislike just because of how powerful those roles are.
The game would lose part of its identity which is how flexible it can be (it was more in the past, though) and how you can play the roles you prefer. Also, thanks to the card system you can be "dps" or flank with a support or tank, and it can be more fun than some pure dps. For example, and even if this is from personal tastes, vivian and viktor are extremely boring for me, yet I have a lot of fun with ying or makoa, teleporting and tricking people or hooking them. I also have fun with some dps but if the game orientated towards dps meta I would find the game so boring. Also, what you said about not being fair how dps players are constantly forced into playing roles you dislike... Wouldn't it be unfair for tank and support mains to play dps if 5 dps meta was a thing? Why would it be unfair in one case and not in another? Because more people, according to you, like dps and dislike tanks and supports? As I said before you did estimations, not actual data, so it's not very reliable info
I won't talk about overwatch, tf2 or apex because I haven't played those games, let's just focus on paladins instead of comparing it to other games
If that were the case, though, they'd have to toss half the skins they've sold the community out the window, as a big part of why I don't like playing tanks/healers is, like I said, healers look nonthreatening, and tanks look stupid. The healers are better than the tanks, but they're boring
Are you just talking about visuals here or about mechanichs?
Anyway, I find fun to play some supports (although I tend to play a hybrid style of being able to support and be aggressive, I wish aggro support style was more viable, to be honest), but I also enjoy playing tanky from time to time and being able to save the point while my team helps me in what they can. I really think that if 5 dps was a meta it would give a lot of problems, I understand some people find shooting and killing and all that attractive but I would like to see more strategy, more roles, more flexibility in what a team can have, and I don't see any of that in a pure dps game
@DaddyOoker a few days ago a friend of mine who's lvl 770 unbalanced the average a lot, I guess not many veterans keep playing and mm doesn't know how to work anymore? I have no clue but is it so hard to find +100lvl people? Although sometimes, even today, I found a person who looked like the lowest lvl and was the highest in their team and had no idea how to play... Anyway I just want to stop stomping or being stomped... It's so hard to find decent and balanced matches, it makes the game boring
